Alonette charms with tenderness, letting her confessional songs and odes to day-to-day existentialism flow out of her with an ease akin to a child’s fantasy play. The alter ego of the Estonian singer Anett Tamm, Alonette stirs up heartfelt folk-pop with a nostalgic nod to the 70s. Nevertheless, her music doesn’t shy away from modern experimentation, creating songs full of unexpected twists, turns and bittersweet sentimentality. With bold melodies and vibrant arrangements, Alonette effortlessly walks the line between simplicity and intricacy. Her band, a lineup of some of Estonia’s most sought after instrumentalists, enriches and completes Alonette’s whimsical ambience.
In March 2025, Alonette released her 10-track debut album “Compass” to critical acclaim in her home country, Estonia. Alongside Alonette, “Compass” features Estonian musicians Erki Pärnoja (guitars), Marti Tärn (bass), Raun Juurikas (keys), Martin Petermann (drums) and a string quartet. The debut has been praised for its maturity, rich sonority and the ability to balance vulnerability with wit.
